Mallardy Ridge and up to Bald Mountain is always a great little hike. I didn’t expect near as much snow as I found this day. A couple years ago at about the same time, there was almost no snow, but this year there was still about 4 feet of snow at the lakes. It was already 70F at the trailhead and almost 90F when I returned. Didn’t see anyone until the way out, one guy at the lakes and four others within a mile from the trailhead.
