Thursday's weather forecast said "Mostly Sunny", well until about 9 or 9:30am, then the clouds came in by the time I made it up to Bathtub Lakes. So I have pictures to prove, its not all blue skies in the north cascades. The road to Mt Pilchuck has been closed all summer, so I decided to take the back route to Pilchuck, which I have never tried before. I started at the Pinnacle Lake trailhead, then up to Bathtub Lakes, up the ridge then to Pilchuck Lookout. The trail can be rough at times with a lot of rock hopping, but nothing to technical. I did have one mishap, but my hiking pole sacrificed itself to save me. Only saw person all day. Another hiker came up from the other side and was at the lookout when I arrived. We had a nice conversation, I ate lunch and went back the way I came.
